Creating a Staking Pool

With Geode Portal you can create your own Staking Pool in just 3 easy steps.

1. Get in touch with the Geode Developers with the following information:

1. What will be your Pool's name?

Your Pool should be named in accordance to its purpose. If you are creating a pool just for your Treasury, you can underline it in the name. If you are creating a pool for your users your pool's name is advised to be:
The same as your protocol's name.
For Example our pool would be named Geode. And our Liquid token would be called Geode-gAVAX. However, you can name your ERC20 interface anything you wanted. Learn More about ERC1155Interfaces.
If we were creating a staking pool for our Treasury only, we would setup our fee structure accordingly. To make things easier for users we would call our pool Geode-Treasury and It's liquid token would be named Geode-Treasury-gAVAX.

2. Which address is going to be the Maintainer (and Owner) of your pool?

You should provide an address as the controller of your protocol. Maintainers can control the most crucial parts of your pool such as gAVAX interfaces and fee distribution.
Geode supports any address as a Maintainer, including your DAO!

2. Geode Governance will create a Proposal for the Senate:

  • The Senate can approve or decline your involvement to the Geode Universe.
  • The Senate CANNOT deactivate your Pool after activation.
  • The Senate is chosen by the current Planets and can be re-elected at anytime.
  • The First Senate (called the Founder Senate) is chosen by the Founder Planets.

3. The Senate approves your involvement and your pool is activated!

Now lets learn how to setup our pool with a proper Fee structure.
